Ellicott City Man Arrested In Severn: Police Report

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A 28-year-old Ellicott City man has been arrested after Anne Arundel County police officers say they found him in Severn engaging in a drug transaction. According to the police department, the officers witnessed the exchange.

They conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and detected a "strong odor" of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, a police report stated. A search of the black Dodge Durango revealed more than $1,200 in U.S. currency and 147 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle. The suspect, Jamar Edward Simms, was arrested.
