It's summertime! The Season Begins with a Bounty of Farm-Fresh Veggies, Fruits, BBQ, Music & More, at the Ellicott City Old Town Market

IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE SUMMER!!! Come Buy Local and Eat Fresh at the Ellicott City Old Town Market this Saturday, June 20, where you will find a bountiful selection of seasonal, local farm-fresh fruits, veggies, meats, eggs, local cheeses, fresh pickles, salsas, hummus, Baked goods, Breads, Pastries, Coffee, MADAME BBQ, prepared foods, and listen to live, local music and more!

We’re starting this summertime season out right! We’re starting it out with “Free Raffles!” That’s right! We have two ways you may win items at the market for “free!”

  • Farm-Fresh Goodie Raffle - Each vendor will be donating a farm-fresh item of their choice so lots of goodies will be awarded!
  • Funny Market-Money Raffle - A Chance to Win “Funny-Money” towards a purchase at the market!

As we roll into summertime and we’re all celebrating Fathers’ Day with our dads this weekend, the Ellicott City Old Town Market is also celebrating the true arrival of the harvest season! We’re celebrating the arrival of such crops such as BLUEBERRIES, CHERRIES assorted squash, green beans, broccoli, salad veggies, greens and more! We’ll post what’s coming to the market each week, but for your information, we’ve included seasonal chart of what’s likely to be in season. Breezy Willow Farm will have a bounty of farm-fresh veggies as seen below. Did you know that everything that is grown on Breezy Willow Farm is “Certified Organic,” there are no pesticides or herbicides used on their naturally grown produce?

Did we say BLUEBERRIES and CHERRIES? Yes, we did! Breezy Willow’s Blueberries along with Baugher’s Orchard Cherries will arrive at the Ellicott City Old Town Market this Saturday just in time for your summertime parties. Many refreshing summertime dishes incorporate these wonderful fruits of the season, parfaits, salads, glazed chickens, hams and more!

While you’re at the market this Saturday, come visit with and talk to “Madame BBQ”, Nikki McGowan, who you may see with her food truck throughout the streets of Howard County summoning you with her unique mouth-watering BBQ . She’s been described to have “a passion for food, and witty tête-à-tête.” Madame BBQ’s pulled pork calls your name, like the sirens of old, to come “try it.” But, you can’t stop there… You’ll get hooked and drawn in by that sweet pulled pork we all are invited to try by Nikki... by the delicious Jane Sandwich overstuffed with tasty Pulled Pork BBQ and Purple Slaw or the BBQ Hot Dog, smothered in Pulled Pork BBQ, Cheddar Cheese, Onions, and garnished with Cilantro. You’ll want to combine her sandwiches with some Iced Tea or Iced Coffee from Bean Hollow. They really make an “awesomely” delicious combo (as seen in the photo above!).
