Ellicott City Residents Sound Off on Snowplowing

ELLICOTT CITY, MD—As of 8 a.m. Sunday the blizzard warning for Maryland has been lifted. Over the weekend, Winter Storm Jonas brought up to 30.5 inches of snow to towns across Howard County.
No travel ban was issued for Ellicott City throughout the storm, but Governor Larry Hogan is still urging residents to stay off the roads while crews get to work.
We asked Patch readers in Ellicott City how they felt about the plowing done on their block. Here’s what they said:

- “We had salt thrown down on Friday right after the snow started. I don’t think a single vehicle has driven on our street since.”
- “The plow came through the upper part of our neighborhood and didn’t come down the remaining 1/4 mile. I heard it got stuck and another truck had to come get it unstuck, but we’re still unplowed.”
- “big snow mound left by plow halfway down the road complicate our efforts since no one except a big plow can get through now. Please comeback and move that pile at least.....”
- “No plowing done in our community yet.”
- “No plow for Font Hill yet...cannot get out of the neighborhood sidestreets at all”
- “Thank you for doing a great jog on Mt. Hebron Drive BUT now the storm drains are block & the melt will flow out onto streets causing black ice .”
