Ellicott Mills Middle School Launches 5th Annual Change Matters Campaign
Having already raised $29,000 for Grassroots, Ellicott Mills Middle is again hosting service learning activities and fundraising efforts.

Ellicott Mills Middle School recently launched its 5th annual Change Matters campaign to raise awareness of poverty and homelessness in the community and raise funds to support Grassroots, Howard County’s 24-hour crisis intervention center and homeless shelter. Change Matters is the county-wide student community service and philanthropy initiative.
Ellicott Mills Middle School students have raised over $29,000 for Grassroots since 2011 by holding school-wide walk-a-thons, talent shows and other activities. The entire school participates in the Student Service Learning efforts. All grades are engaged in a series of activities, which include visits from Grassroots representatives and classroom discussions.
