A Cozy and Inviting Victorian Refuge

 Ellicott City MD.—Nested among the quaint shops of  Main Street in Historic Ellicott City is Tea on the Tiber, a Victorian Tea Room and Gift Shop.  Visitors enjoy the quiet elegance and refinement of a grand English Tea parlor where, in days past, ladies and gentlemen would share the camaraderie of friends and traditional English fare.

 Tea on the Tiber blends civility and culture with exotic and unusual teas from around the world and finishes the dining experience with tasty light fare presented on fine porcelain china. An extensive menu boasts of English manor scones complimented by clotted cream/ lemon curd or triple berry jam. Savory English tea sandwiches, which include Tea on the Tiber’s very own tasty tomato, are also served with fresh fruit and cheese. The dining experience is completed with two delicious sweets and a traditional shortbread cookie. 

 A total of four individual dining areas in all, each room is warm, intimate and inviting and features Victorian period décor. The Grand Parlor, The Sunroom, Squire's Office, The Library and weather permitting, a deck overlooking the Tiber River celebrate an era of refinement and elegance.

 Under new ownership, Linda Jones remarks, “ This is such a wonderful venue for small intimate gatherings—perfect for a bridal or baby shower, birthday party or special event…a completely different place to brings friends together.  Memorable times need to be savored.  Tea on the Tiber is an escape from the rush of our hectic lives.”
