Fire In Ellicott City Burns Hole Into Home: Officials

Firefighters put out a blaze Sunday morning at a house in Ellicott City, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Fire burned a hole into the basement of a house in Ellicott City overnight, fire officials said. The residents were able to get out safely, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 4800 block of Lauren Court, where officials said the blaze was on the first floor.

Authorities reported that crews had extinguished the blaze before 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, and were continuing to look for extension.
