Fire Lane Violation Leads To Drug Charges: EC Police Blotter

Police said a business was burglarized on St. Johns Lane, among other crimes reported this week in Ellicott City.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent crimes reported in Ellicott City. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

A Columbia man is paying the price for parking in a fire lane in Ellicott City. Officers originally made contact with a driver because of a fire lane violation in the 3200 block of North Ridge Road in Ellicott City at 11:33 p.m. on Nov. 27. Authorities said they found more than 10 grams of marijuana and a handgun in the vehicle. Dontrell Travon Milner, 25, of Brook Way was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute and multiple weapons violations.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 3200 block of North Ridge Road at 1:24 p.m. on Nov. 27.

A business in the 3100 block of St. Johns Lane was burglarized. Tools were stolen from East Coast Electric. The burglary was reported at 7:01 a.m. on Nov. 27 after the lock to a construction site had been cut.

A Chevrolet Equinox was stolen from the 3200 block of Corporate Court at 9:05 a.m. on Nov. 27. It had South Carolina tags that said "MKN404."

A wheel was stolen from a vehicle in the 4700 block of Dorsey Hall Drive. The theft was reported at 9:14 p.m. on Nov. 24.

Outside Ellicott City: An indecent exposure call in the 8900 block of River Island Drive in Savage resulted in the arrest of a man from Alexandria, Virginia. A woman reported someone exposed himself outside her home at 12:06 a.m. on Nov. 25. Desmond Oppong, 21, was charged with indecent exposure and released.
