Fire at Marriotts Ridge High School Causes Early Dismissal
BREAKING: Students were dismissed, weekend activities canceled at one HoCo high school due to a fire on Friday.

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD — School let out at 10:15 a.m. on Friday for students at Marriotts Ridge High School after a trash can fire, officials said.
All evening and weekend activities at Marriotts Ridge High School are canceled, the Howard County Public School System announced.
The measures are being taken "out of an abundance of caution," officials said.

Here is the full statement issued by Marriottsville High School on Friday, Feb. 3:
Following an early morning trashcan fire, and out of an abundance of caution, Marriotts Ridge High School will dismiss at 10:15 a.m., today, Friday, February 3. Students who drive to school will be dismissed immediately. Parents picking up students should report to Mount View Middle School. Buses will also pick up students at Mount View Middle School and transport them to their usual stops.
All school- and community-sponsored activities scheduled to be held at MRHS for February 3-5 have been canceled.
