Final Weather Decision From HCPSS For Monday, Feb. 11

Officials with the Howard County Public School System updated a previous decision due to weather.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — All public schools will be closed on Monday, according to the Howard County Public School System. This is an update to an earlier decision to delay opening. Officials announced the closure after 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.

Although schools will be closed, authorities say school offices will open at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Central office will open at 10 a.m., officials said.

All evening activities in schools — both school and community-sponsored — are canceled, including high school games and athletic practices.

Howard County is under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m. Monday for snow, sleet and freezing rain. Drivers should anticipate slippery road conditions.

PREVIOUS REPORT (EXPIRED as of 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11) — There is a delayed opening Monday for public schools in Howard County. Officials made the announcement Monday morning.

Schools will open two hours late on Monday, Feb. 11, according to the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS).

Morning child care programs in schools that are sponsored by the Columbia Association and Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will be delayed two hours.

Morning prekindergarten and RECC programs are canceled.

School officials said they would reevaluate conditions by 7:30 a.m. on Monday.

Central offices will open, according to. HCPSS.
