HoCo Fire & Rescue Receives $821K In Funding For PPE, Supplies
The grant for purchasing PPE and other equipment will help keep emergency personnel safe during HoCo's coronavirus response and recovery.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services has received $821,257 in federal funding to purchase PPE and related supplies for first responders during the coronavirus pandemic. Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said the pandemic has "stretched our resources."
“This critical funding will support PPE and other equipment to keep our firefighters, paramedics and responders safe throughout our response and recovery," Ball said in a statement.
County Fire Chief William Anuszewski said the grant will help firefighters and paramedics "ensure their safety."

“In our profession, we train and prepare for any hazards that may arise and although no one has a clear picture as to what the next few months will look like during this pandemic, these resources will help us be better prepared," he said in a statement.
