Fire in Attic of Ellicott City Home Draws Emergency Response

Howard County firefighters were in the area of Waterloo and Montgomery roads responding to a nearby house fire.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Authorities said fire broke out in the attic of an Ellicott City home Monday afternoon.

After 1 p.m., crews were at the scene of the blaze in the 4800 block of Hale Haven Drive, where the fire was reportedly brought under control by 1:45 p.m.

Everyone inside the residence evacuated before the fire department arrived, according to officials.

Drivers were advised to use caution in the Waterloo-Montgomery road area. Around 2 p.m., crews remained at the scene checking to ensure the fire was completely out and had not spread in the home, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.
