House Fire in Ellicott City Leaves Rancher Uninhabitable: Officials
Firefighters found flames through the roof at a home off Normandy Drive Wednesday night, authorities said.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A home in the 2900 block of Knoll Circle was posted as uninhabitable Wednesday night after fire broke out in the attic, officials said.
The homeowner called 911 to report the siding near the chimney was ablaze around 7:40 p.m.; and when firefighters arrived, flames were showing through the roof, according to authorities.
Two adults who were at the residence at the time had evacuated before first responders got to the home, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.

Officials said the fire marshal was still investigating the cause and assessing damage Wednesday night.
