Howard County Arts Council Offers Employment & Volunteer Opportunities Through Summer Camp in 2016

Application Deadline is March 30

The Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) is currently accepting applications for Camp Assistants (paid) and Camp Volunteers (unpaid) for its 2016 Visual and Performing Arts Summer Camps. Downloadable applications are available on the “Getting Involved” page of HCAC’s website at hocoarts.org.

Duties of the Assistant and Volunteer positions include preparing classrooms and materials for the day’s activities, supervising campers in art-related activities as directed by the classroom instructor, and monitoring campers during breaks, lunch times, etc. There is at least one Assistant or Volunteer per class. Assistants must be aged 18 by June 13, 2016; Volunteers must be aged 15 by September 1, 2016.

Camps are offered June 20 - August 12 from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm; before- and after-care are offered from 8:00 – 9:00 am and 3:30 – 6:00 pm, respectively. Hours for the Assistants and Volunteers will vary; however, Assistants must work a full day (8:45 am – 3:45 pm) and commit to at least one full camp session. Opportunities may be available to work extended hours during before- and after-care. Application deadline is March 30.
