Howard County Closing and Delay Information
The Howard County Public School System and other agencies made adjustments Monday based on weather.

Schools in Howard County will open later than usual Monday morning.
The Howard County Public School System announced that there would be a two-hour delay on Monday, Jan. 12, due to weather.
In addition, The Goddard School in Columbia, a preschool on Quarterstaff Road, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 12, due to water damage from a frozen pipe. It reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Federal government offices in the D.C. area are opening two hours late on Monday and employees have the option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.

Liberal leave is in effect for state of Maryland employees starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, until the end of the day shift. Essential emergency personnel should report to work on time.
