Howard County Public Schools Delay Opening

Citing weather conditions, the Howard County Public School System announced Tuesday morning that schools would open later than usual.

All schools and morning programs will be delayed two hours on Tuesday, Jan. 6, according to the announcement.

School-based morning programs sponsored by the Columbia Association and Howard County Recreation and Parks will be delayed two hours.

Morning sessions of half-day prekindergarten and RECC programs are canceled.

Howard County is under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m., with approximately 1 to 3 inches of snow in the forecast.
