HCPSS Makes Weather Decision For Saturday

Public schools in Howard County changed the schedule for Saturday, Dec. 9, due to impending snow.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD -- With snow in the forecast, the Howard County Public School System has changed plans for the weekend. Schools will be closed and all activities, including the ACT and athletic events, have been canceled on Saturday, Dec. 9.

The decision comes as the region braces for its first snowfall of the season. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Baltimore-Washington area calling for 2 to 4 inches of snow.

The winter weather advisory lasts from midnight to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, and officials say that roads may be slippery.
