Howard Football Has Momentum for River Hill Test

The Howard High football team is suddenly one of the leaders in Howard County, and is looking to take advantage of a momentum swing in a critical Friday night game against visiting River Hill.
The Lions moved into a four-way tie for first place in Howard County with a 21-14 homecoming victory over Reservoir on Saturday. The opportunity to grab a share of first came the night before when Atholton handed visiting River Hill its first loss in the county in 49 games, 10-0.
Howard, River Hill, Hammond and Wilde Lake are the county leaders, all with 4-1 records.

The Lions got two touchdown runs from Ryan Dacus and another from quarterback Ryan Wade on Saturday.
Centennial got its first victory Friday night, defeating winless Marriotts Ridge on the road, 35-14. The Eagles got two touchdowns runs from Nick Zahor and two from Garrett Kelly.
