Ellicott City Bank Robbery Suspect Found in Columbia: Police
Police said the suspect in a bank robbery on Route 40 drove to Columbia, where he was found in a vehicle and taken into custody.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A man has been charged in connection with a bank robbery in Ellicott City that happened Friday, police said.
Alan Donnell Kemp, 37, of District Heights in Prince George's County, is charged with armed robbery; robbery; theft from $1,000 to $10,000; first and second-degree assault; and five weapons offenses related to possessing a firearm, court records show.
Police allege Kemp went into Hamilton Bank in the 8400 block of Baltimore National Pike and demanded money from an employee at approximately 12:47 p.m. on Friday. He left with cash, according to officials.

As police investigated, area businesses were evacuated and parts of Ellicott Center Drive and Ridge Road were closed for two hours.
Authorities said they found Kemp inside a vehicle on Twin Knolls Road in Columbia. He was booked Sunday in the Howard County Detention Center.
