Man Killed In I-70 Crash Into Tree Line In Howard County: Police
Police said that one person died in the crash near Marriottsville Road Tuesday, and no other vehicles were involved.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A man died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 Tuesday near Marriottsville Road, according to Maryland State Police. The right lane was closed in the area of the crash for approximately two hours, police said.
Troopers were dispatched around 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, to westbound I-70 before Marriottsville Road, where a vehicle had overturned in the tree line, according to authorities.
The victim was a 55-year-old man driving a 2013 Hyundai Veloster, officials reported. His name is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police said the driver was going west on I-70 when for unknown reasons he went off the road to the right side and his car flipped.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials said.

The right lane was closed on I-70 west near Marriottsville Road until just before 2 p.m. for the crash investigation, according to police.
