Man Shot, Killed Son In Marriottsville: Police

Police said a domestic dispute between a father and son turned deadly in western Howard County.

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD — A man shot and killed his son in Marriottsville Tuesday night, according to police. Charges have not been filed, and the case remains under investigation, the Howard County Police Department reported Wednesday morning.

Stephen Michael Tucker, 38, of Randallstown, was pronounced deceased at the scene in the 1500 block of Marriottsville Road, police said.

Authorities said that Tucker and his father had gotten into an altercation that ended in gunfire, with the father shooting his son one time.

Stephen Dwight Tucker, 68, had visible injuries when officers responded to the report of a man shot at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, after another resident at the home called 911, police said.

"No charges have been filed at this time," the Howard County Police Department said in a statement Wednesday morning. "The investigation is ongoing in consultation with the Howard County state’s attorney’s office."

Before the shooting, police said Stephen Michael Tucker had assaulted and injured another family member at that person's residence, which he also damaged, before driving to his father's house.
