Meals Needed for People Living in Emergency Shelter

Grassroots is seeking microwavable meals and hearty soups and stews

Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center is collecting microwavable meals and hearty soups and stews for homeless families living in local motels with only a microwave to prepare food. The families are in the Grassroots emergency shelter program and are waiting to move into more stable accommodations such as the shelter operated by Grassroots in Columbia.

Examples of food items that are needed include microwavable and canned versions of Chef Boyardee products, Kraft Easy Mac Macaroni and Cheese Dinners, Dinty Moore and other canned beef stew and chili, and hearty soups such as Progresso and Campbell’s Chunky.

These items can be delivered to the Grassroots offices, 6700 Freetown Road in Columbia, or to the collection site at Bob’s BMW Motorcycles, 10720 Guilford Road in Jessup.
