Barbara Ann Hammond, 91, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at Ellicott City Health and Rehab Center.
She was born on Feb. 2, 1922, in Chicago, Ill. She was the youngest child of the late Glen and Ruth Bull.
Barbara married Donald Hammond in September 1955 and Barbara’s only child, Aimee Evans, was born in 1957. Donald and Barbara divorced in 1967, and he passed away in October 1992. Neither of them ever remarried.

While raising Aimee, Barbara helped support the two of them by substitute teaching and working at the Department of the Army in Washington, D.C. She had previously earned a four-year degree from the University of Florida, where she majored in English.
Barbara loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed going out to eat at Olive Garden and Friendly’s, and she had a deep appreciation for sweets -- especially York Peppermint Patties.

She was laid to rest at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, Md., on August 23, 2013.
Barbara was preceded in death by brothers John and Glen Bull, sister Ruth Reid, and niece Connie Marshall. Barbara is survived by daughter Aimee; granddaughters Stacy and Courtney Pomeroy; great-grandsons Caleb Pape, Daniel Duckworth and Luke Duckworth; sister-in-law Anne Marie Kenny; nieces Eugenia Ryner, Patricia Bull and Carol Bull Mead; nephews Howard Bull, Tom Edgarton, John G. Bull, James Bull and Robert Reid.
