This October, Celebrate National Arts & Humanities Month with the Arts Council

HCAC is joining Americans for the Arts and arts agencies across the nation in celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month

The Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) is joining Americans for the Arts and arts agencies across the nation in encouraging people to celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) by supporting the arts in our community during the month of October.

HCAC will participate in NAHM with an ARTreach Courtyard Concert featuring A Restoration Project on October 3 from 5–7pm at Long Reach Village Center in Columbia. No tickets are necessary for this free event.

The ARTreach concert coincides with another Long Reach Village Center event, Bowled Over, the Columbia Art Center’s Empty Bowls fundraiser to benefit Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, which takes place October 3 from 6–9pm. To purchase tickets, call the Columbia Art Center at 410-730-0075.

Coordinated by Americans for the Arts, National Arts and Humanities Month is designed to encourage Americans to explore new facets of the arts and humanities in their lives and to begin a lifelong habit of active participation in the arts and humanities. This month-long celebration grew out of National Arts Week, which Americans for the Arts, along with the National Endowment for the Arts, began in 1985. More information about National Arts and Humanities Month is available online at www.AmericansForTheArts.org/nahm.
