One Hospitalized From Ellicott City House Fire: Officials
A house fire on Waterloo Road early Tuesday morning caused $200,000 in damage, according to Howard County Fire and Rescue officials.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — One person was hospitalized and hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage were incurred after a fire in Ellicott City Tuesday morning, officials said.
At 2 a.m., crews responded to the 5400 block of Waterloo Road for a reported kitchen fire. Instead, authorities said they found fire showing from the first and second floors.
Approximately 45 firefighters handled the incident, which required going into the burning home and launching an aggressive attack, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS). Within 25 minutes, officials said the blaze was out.

One resident was taken to Howard County General Hospital for a minor medical condition, officials said.
There was $200,000 in damage to the home, and the cause of the blaze was under investigation.
