Meeting Highlights Project To Improve Safety At Snowden River, Broken Parkway In Columbia

The community can attend a meeting highlighting how the county will improve safety at the intersection of Snowden River and Broken Parkway.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The public can attend a meeting March 7 to learn more about improvements planned for the intersection of Snowden River Parkway and Broken Parkway in Columbia.

The meeting will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Hammond High School's cafeteria.

The project has been designed to improve the flow of vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic from the westbound MD 32 off-ramp onto Broken Land Parkway and at the intersection of Snowden River Parkway and Broken Land Parkway.

Design improvements include:

  1. Widening of the MD 32 westbound off-ramp to Broken Land Parkway;
  2. Widening along northbound Broken Land Parkway from MD 32 through the Snowden River Parkway intersection to the existing Park and Ride lot;
  3. The installation of a shared use pathway along northbound Broken Land Parkway for enhanced pedestrian and bicycle mobility; and
  4. Widening along eastbound Snowden River Parkway to provide three lanes of travel from Broken Land Parkway to Minstrel Way.
