Public Schools in Howard County No Longer Opening

The Howard County Public School System announced Tuesday that all schools would be closed due to the weather conditions.

This overrides the school system’s earlier decision to open two hours late.

School offices will be open.

All evening activities in schools, both school-sponsored and community-sponsored, are canceled. This includes high school athletic practices and games.

Howard County is under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m., with approximately 1 to 3 inches of snow in the forecast.

Liberal leave is in effect at Howard County government offices on Tuesday.
