Route 40 Closed In Area Of Frederick Road: Officials
BREAKING: A pole on fire in Ellicott City has caused a closure, Howard County fire and rescue officials say.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — An intersection in Ellicott City has been shut down Monday morning because of a fire, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services. There is a utility pole on fire, officials reported.
US 40/Baltimore National Pike is closed at Frederick Road, authorities said. The closure near Centennial Lane was reported after 7:20 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25.
While BGE and Howard County firefighters respond to the report of the pole on fire, officials asked people to avoid the area.

Howard County is under a high wind warning until 6 p.m. on Monday. The National Weather Service warns that winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts from 50 to 60 mph could result in power outages and fallen trees.
