UPDATE: Ellicott City Woman Has Been Found, Police Say

The Howard County Police Department canceled silver alert.

UPDATE (7:30 a.m.)—The Howard County Police Department reports the missing Ellicott City woman has been found, safe and unharmed.

An Ellicott City woman visiting a friend at Howard County General Hospital Tuesday did not return home afterward, and police have issued a silver alert in hopes the public can help find her.

Mildred Rice, 82, was last seen at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday leaving the hospital in Columbia, where she was visiting a patient, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Rice was driving a 2003 gray metallic four-door Lexus sedan with Maryland tag 6CJB72, police reported.

She was reportedly headed home to the 2800 block of Southview Drive in Ellicott City but never arrived.

Rice is described as a white woman who is 5’4” and 130 pounds, last seen wearing black-rimmed glasses, a flower-print shirt with black background and black pants.

Anyone with information about Mildred Rice may contact 911. Police say they are concerned because she has age-related health issues.
