Stewardship Awards Available For Howard County Businesses, Organizations
The deadline for nominations for two environmental stewardship awards falls on Feb. 24.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Nomination forms are now available for the annual “Business Recycling and Waste Reduction” and “Green Community Leadership” awards given by the Howard County Department of Public Works’ Bureau of Environmental Services. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Feb. 24.
“Recognizing the efforts of our community partners to improve our environment is one of the important things we do each year,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “Through their actions and dedication these groups are showing us all that meaningful change can come from all around us.”
The Business Recycling and Waste Reduction Award recognizes Howard County businesses for their efforts during the 2022 calendar year. The Green Community Leadership Award recognizes a Howard County-based community group or organization that demonstrates efforts, projects or programs that help protect Howard County’s natural environment and preserve its resources. This award is open to community groups and organizations that are based in Howard County.
Nomination forms are available online at www.workgreenhoward.org. All nominations can be sent to: Alan Wilcom, Recycling Division, 9801 Broken Land Parkway, Columbia, MD 21046, or via email awilcom@howardcountymd.gov.
Awards will be presented at the 16th annual Howard County GreenFest April 15 at Howard Community College.
