Teen Dies In Ellicott City Crash: Police

The accident along Route 108 shut down the road for three hours in both directions.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A serious collision along Route 108 at Manorstone Lane Feb. 25 shortly after 4 p.m. led to the death of a 17-year-old teenager. The road was closed for three hoursin both directions.

According to the Howard County Police Department, the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on Route 108 when he crossed the center line and struck a 2016 Lexus SUV headed westbound. The driver and sole occupant of the Impala, Marc Ryan El-Sayed, 17, of Clarksville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV, Susie Lee Yang, 48, of Highland, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
