HoCo Man Leaves Threatening Messages For LGBTQ Advocate Group, Faces Charges: Prosecutor

A West Friendship man who left threatening voicemails for an LGBTQ advocate group now faces federal charges, according to prosecutors.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 34-year-old West Friendship man has been charged in connection to threats made against a group that advocates for LGBTQ individuals.

According to court documents, on the evening of March 28, the victim organization received a threatening voicemail from a phone number that investigators identified as belonging to Adam Michael Nettina. The message referenced the March 27 mass shooting at a school in Nashville, Tennessee, where three students and three adults were fatally shot.

The suspect later identified as a former student who identified as transgender.

The FBI said Nettina left the voicemail for the Washington office of Human Rights Campaign, USA Today reported.

"You guys going to shoot up our schools now? Is that how it’s going to be?" the message said, according to the FBI. The caller allegedly went on to threaten to "slaughter you back. We’ll cut your throats. We’ll put a bullet in your head."
