Weather Decision from Howard County Public School System on Thursday, Feb. 9

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Schools in Howard County will open two hours late on Thursday, Feb. 9, authorities announced Thursday morning.

Morning pre-kindergarten and regional early childhood center programs are canceled on Thursday, Howard County Public School System officials said.

Morning childcare programs sponsored by the Department of Recreation and Parks in Howard County will be delayed two hours.

All Columbia Association before school programs will open at 9 a.m. All other CA classes, programs and activities will operate on a normal schedule.

The Howard County Board of Education meeting planned for 4 p.m. Thursday will go on as scheduled.

Other schedule changes

• Glenelg Country School is opening on a two-hour delay, with morning buses and extended day delayed two hours. School officials asked people to refrain from coming to campus early so that roads can be treated.'
• Maryland School for the Deaf is opening on a two-hour delay.
