Two pond projects in Howard County, scheduled to begin in September, will be discussed at a public meeting Wednesday.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Two ponds in Ellicott City will be repaired beginning in September, weather permitting. Howard County’s Department of Public Works’ Stormwater Management Division will hold a public meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Columbia/Ellicott City Room of the George Howard Building at 3430 Court House Drive in Ellicott City to present the project's plans.

The first pond to be repaired is located within Centennial Park, upstream from Centennial Lake. The project will repair the Centennial Park sediment basin at the site and bring the pond into compliance with current Maryland Department of the Environment standards and regulations.
The second pond to be repaired is located at the end of South Meadow Court. The inflows to the pond are to be repaired and the outfall of the pond will be stabilized.

The meeting will include a brief overview of the project’s design followed by an open discussion. County staff and the project’s design consultant will be on hand to answer any questions.
