Wilde Lake and Hammond High Schools Raise Funds for Grassroots

Students collected change to support suicide prevention services at Howard County's 24-hour crisis intervention center.

Wilde Lake High School held a “Don’t Do Nothing” Football Challenge fundraiser to support Grassroots suicide prevention efforts. Grassroots is Howard County’s 24-hour crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless. The students collected change during a varsity game against Hammond High School. The WLHS Lettermen, a leadership club, sponsored the program and fundraising initiative. The students collected $595.61. Among those collecting change at the game were WLHS students (from l.) Jacob Matthew, Jessica Palatko and Maggie Lewis.
