Woman Dies In Crash On Main Street In Ellicott City: Police

Police said a driver hit three parked cars in a deadly crash Monday morning that closed part of Main Street in Ellicott City.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — An Ellicott City woman died in a crash Monday morning on Main Street. Police said the driver did not clear a turn and hit three parked cars downtown.

Jeanette Marcella Carmody, 30, of Ellicott City, was pronounced deceased at the scene in the 8500 block of Main Street, police reported.

Officials said at Carmody was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla west on Main Street when she failed to negotiate a curve, left the road and hit three parked vehicles at 1:18 a.m. Nobody was inside the parked cars, and Carmody was the only person inside her vehicle, officials reported.

Carmody was not wearing a seat belt, according to police, who continue to investigate what caused the crash.

Authorities said Main Street was closed between Rogers Avenue and Ellicott Mills Drive until approximately 5:15 a.m.
