Woman Dies in Ellicott City Crash

One driver was killed and and another driver was injured in a New Year's Eve wreck, according to Howard County Police.

A woman died in a crash in Ellicott City on New Year’s Eve, according to Howard County Police.

Maryann Lofft Judge, 71, of Windsor Mill, was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital.

Benjamin Olabamidele Akintan, 45, of Ellicott City, was transported to Howard County General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two cars collided at approximately 5:11 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 29 and 99.

According to police, Judge was driving a Honda Civic traveling westbound on Route 99 and attempted to make a left turn onto southbound Route 29 when it reportedly struck a Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck driving by Akintan traveling eastbound on Route 99.

Police claim preliminary investigation has revealed the Honda failed to yield right of way to the Toyota.
