• Governor Moore Announces Historic Funding to Fight Child Poverty Through the ENOUGH Initiative (maryland.gov) — Essex is directly named as a beneficiary of Maryland's ENOUGH Initiative, with Community Assistance Network receiving state support to tackle concentrated child poverty in the neighborhood. Governor Wes Moore announced $32 million in new grants statewide, part of a broader $360 million public‑philanthropic effort to expand food access, healthcare, and economic opportunity in high‑poverty communities across Maryland.
