Police: Kenwood High School Evacuated for Investigation

Suspicious package was found outside school, Baltimore County police said.

Due to a suspicious package, Kenwood High School in Middle River will be closing at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, according to Baltimore County Emergency Management.

The school at 501 Stemmers Run Road is dismissing early “due to a threat and an abundance of caution,” Baltimore County Public Schools said in a statement.

Someone threatened the school via email Thursday night and a device was found Friday morning, according to The Baltimore Sun, which said hazardous materials teams were at the school.

After 8 a.m., the Baltimore County Police Department reported that a suspicious package had been found outside the school and students were being evacuated.
