Haircuts for the Homeless: August 12 in Bel Air
We're havin' a party at Bella Amici Salon with Patrick Lomantini who's giving haircuts and giving 100% of proceeds to the animals at HSHC.
Need a haircut? Love animals? On Wednesday, August 12th, Patrick Lomantini, master stylist and owner of a salon in Wichita, KS, will cut hair at Bel Air’s Bella Amici Salon to bring attention to and raise funds for the many wonderful animals at the Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC). On this, his fourth annual tour, Lomantini will travel to all 50 states in 63 continuous days to give at least 50 haircuts in each state – all for his love and passion for saving the nation’s homeless animals. One hundred percent of the proceeds are donated to the participating shelter.
Lomantini will start cutting hair at 10am at Bella Amici and his last appointment will be at 8pm. Make an appointment now by calling Bella Amici Salon at 410-588-5688. During his day-long cutting extravaganza, a minimum $20 donation will be collected per haircut. Donations will also be collected to assist Lomantini with travel expenses; otherwise, Lomantini doesn’t pocket any money; he is donating 100% of all proceeds to support the programs and services at HSHC. The first 50 people who get haircuts will receive a goody bag with product samples and other giveaways.
Folks who are unable to attend are encouraged to donate $20 so a homeless woman or child in transition at Anna’s House in Bel Air can get a haircut. Donations can be made online at www.harfordshelter.org/event/50-states-hair-cutting-tour/ or brought directly to Bella Amici Salon, 624 South Main Street (Rte 924) in Bel Air or The Humane Society of Harford County, 2208 Connolly Rd, Fallston. Donations should be clearly marked “FOR ANNA’S HOUSE” and all checks should be made payable to HSHC. The deadline to make a donation is Monday, August 10.

“Not only is Patrick incredibly passionate about helping animals in need, he is also a really generous person who has an incredibly positive attitude,” said Erin Long, marketing coordinator at HSHC. “Once you meet him, he makes you feel like one of his oldest and most treasured friends. He definitely has a following among our supporters and many of them look forward to seeing him each year on his stop in Bel Air.”
From 2pm until 5pm, adoptable animals (including five 8-week-old puppies) who are looking for permanent homes will be visiting Bella Amici’s front lawn. Stop by the kissing booth to “Smooch a Pooch” for just $1!
