2 Drivers Hospitalized After Head-On Collision

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Two drivers were hospitalized over the weekend after a head-on collision in Gaithersburg.

Pete Piringer, of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said the incident took place near the intersection of Muddy Branch Road and Killarney Lane around midnight on Saturday.

Several emergency crews responded to the scene amid reports that one of the drivers was trapped in their car.

Piringer said the collision occurred when one of the individuals was driving in the wrong direction.

One of the drivers, suffering from serious injuries, was taken to the hospital from the scene of the crash.

The second individual, treated for non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to the hospital from the Gaithersburg Police Station.
