Fire officials say an oven was the likely source, prompting evacuations of three buildings before Washington Gas removed the appliance and residents were allowed back a few hours later.
• Worst Parking Lots in Montgomery County (2026 Edition) (mocoshow.com) — Several Gaithersburg spots, including Costco, Firstfield Shopping Center, Rio's garage, Gaithersburg Square, and the Shady Grove Home Depot, are singled out as some of Montgomery County's most frustrating parking experiences. The list, built from reader feedback, explains where congestion, tight lanes, and confusing layouts most often snarl everyday errands around town and nearby communities.
• Former Quince Orchard Standout Iverson Howard Scores First Two College Touchdowns (mocoshow.com) — A former Quince Orchard High School football star from Gaithersburg just scored his first two college touchdowns for the University of Maryland, capping a breakout game to open his sophomore season.
