An Artful Spring

With all the changes of seasons in the DC / DMV area, nature has been so inspiring to me as an artist. From January's and February's snow blizzard creating mesmerizing snowscapes, to March and April's beautiful Spring where the trees dress in pink flowers and the Cherry Blossoms create a pastoral artistic Spring like no other - I was determined to create landscapes.

Consequently, my eyes and mind were picking up the colors, and I set a goal to produce more landscape paintings. I felt this wonderful nature has moved me in such a way that I had turned into “Claude Monet”.

Beyond keeping busy admiring nature, snapping photos of trees and flowers and making paintings out of them, I am currently teaching my Spring semester art classes in Painting at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, and at the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo Park.

In regards to my latest art creations and art news, 2016 has unfortunately proven to be tragic to some of my ultimate art and music muses. David Bowie, one of my favorite art muses, and a music legend has left this world after a battle with cancer. Prince another music icon, has also sadly recently passed away at the young age of 57. These two musician have been so influential and so inspiring to me and to my artistic vision that I had to create paintings in their memory and as homage to all the wonderful music they had given us.
