Store Opening To Headline Capitals, Commanders & Mystics Players
Professional athletes Lauren Betts, Tom Wilson and Sonny Styles will be appearing at the grand opening of the new DICK's House of Sport.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — DICK's Sporting Goods will be holding a grand opening celebration for its new House of Sport store in Gaithersburg.
But don't expect your run-of-the-mill grand opening festivities. In fact, the multi-day event will include special appearances from three professional athletes at its new site at 2 Grand Corner Ave.
Starting Thursday, officials will kick off the opening ceremony with a ribbon-cutting at 6 p.m. that will feature the Washington Mystics' Lauren Betts.

On Friday, Washington Capitals player Tom Wilson will be on site for fan meet-and-greets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The final appearance comes Saturday, when Commanders linebacker Sonny Styles will be in store between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Both players will only be signing player cards provided by DICK's Sporting Goods.

Those interested in snagging an autograph must first obtain one of the limited wristbands that will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis when doors open at 9 a.m.
In addition to the signing sessions, organizers will offer gift card and DSG soccer ball giveaways for the first 100 kids (those aged under 18) who are in line by the store's opening from Thursday to Sunday.
Other goodies in store for customers include doorbuster deals and sweepstakes.
The House of Sport location will be open to customers Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
