HomeFree USA, in partnership with the City of Gaithersburg and Montgomery Housing Partnership, presents a free foreclosure counseling and loan modification scam awareness workshop on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Avenue, next to Gaithersburg High School.
Topics will include:
- Informational group sessions on foreclosure prevention and the loss mitigation process.
- Helping homeowners understand the foreclosure prevention process and available options.
- A review of the mitigation process and Emergency Mortgage Assistance programs.
- Preliminary individual reviews of homeowner documentation and making appointments for loss mitigation consultations.
- Scam alert materials and small group sessions to help residents understand legitimate services versus those that may not be in the best interest of the homeowner.
