Gaithersburg Soccer Coach Arrested for Sexual Abuse of 7-Year-Old [UPDATES]
The head coach for The Academia De Futbol Salvadorena was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl during practices.

(Updated at 3:05 p.m. Friday) GAITHERSBURG, MD — A 47-year-old Gaithersburg soccer coach was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl during soccer practices, Montgomery County police said.
Miguel Alfredo Flores, 47, of Gaithersburg was the head soccer coach for The Academia De Futbol Salvadorena, based in Gaithersburg. Flores was arrested May 3 while he was at Centerway Park and charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor and one count of third-degree sex offense.
On Thursday, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an immigration detainer against Flores with the Montgomery County Detention Center after he was arrested, officials say. Flores is originally from El Salvador.

Detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division received information on March 30 from Child Protective Services that Flores had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with the then seven-year-old female victim on multiple occasions during the summer of 2015, police said.
Investigators believe that all of the inappropriate contact occurred at the Centerway Park soccer field in Montgomery Village.

Detectives believe there may be additional victims who have had contact with Flores. Detectives are urging anyone with information regarding inappropriate contact involving Miguel Alfredo Flores to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240.773.5400.
