Gaithersburg Woman Shot in Leg: Police

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Authorities have not yet said what the motive might be behind the shooting of a Gaithersburg woman on Monday. The shooting happened about 3:30 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Lamont Lane, according to the Gaithersburg Police Department.

Police spokesman Dan Lane told Montgomery Community Media that police officers found a woman with a gunshot wound to her leg. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening; she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, Lane said.
