Man Killed After Being Thrown Off Motorcycle

MONTGOMERY CO., MD — A man died over the weekend after being thrown from his motorcycle in Gaithersburg.

Details released by the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service indicated the incident happened on Interstate 370, between Interstate 270 and the Shady Grove Metro Access Road.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene just before 3 p.m.

At the scene, officials located a man in "trauma arrest after being thrown from his motorcycle," according to a release.

However, despite "aggressive" life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has not been identified by officials.

Multiple lanes of the major roadway were closed as a crash investigation was carried out. The cause of the crash has not been released.

Maryland State Police is leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.
