Maryland Housing Market Positive in June

The housing market in Maryland continues to impress as home sales tick upward during the summer months! In a news release, the Maryland Association of Realtors (MAR) measured that June home sales increased 2.6% over June of the previous year, as reported by The Star.

Included in the report were other statewide housing market statistics, which show signs of equilibrium for the state of Maryland. Available inventory and pending sales are both better than June 2013’s numbers and current prices remain stable. Additionally, supply has fallen from last month, but has increased slightly year-over-year to just 4.7 months, meaning those who are looking for a new home for sale are acting quickly!

“We are encouraged that the number of homes under contract has increased by more than 200 transactions since last year at this time,” says Russ Boyce, Presidents of MAR. “Overall, the increased inventory and stable prices create an attractive opportunity for buyers.”
