GAITHERSBURG, MD — A Montgomery County teacher was arrested this week in connection with a man's overdose death in Washington, D.C., police said Tuesday.

Sarah K. Magid was arrested Monday after Montgomery County police and agents with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search and seizure warrant at her Burtonsville home.

According to police, Magid's arrest stems from the March 2024 death of a man whose autopsy later revealed that he died from fentanyl toxicity. Investigators determined the man had been in Montgomery County in the days leading up to his death and had been in contact with a person named "Sarah," police said.

Further investigation identified "Sarah" as Magid, according to police.
