MoCo Man Dies After East-West Highway Collision
An 80-year-old Silver Spring man died days after being struck by a vehicle on East-West Highway, police said.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — An 80-year-old Silver Spring man is dead after being hit by a car while crossing East-West Highway, police said Tuesday.
The man, identified by the Montgomery County Police Department as Roland Singleton, was initially hit by a car Feb. 11 but succumbed to his injuries Feb. 21.
Police said first responders were called to the area of East-West Highway and Washington Avenue on Feb. 11 just before 10 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian hit by a car.

Singleton was hit by a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the eastbound lanes of the highway.
No charges have been announced in the case.
